Chapter 2
“That you have crimson eyes?” still
staring at him. He’s expressionless, and he doesn’t look at me at all, why is
that though? I thought.
We kept walking, till we arrived at a
house that is not my house. It’s huge like a mansion, but destroyed as if it’s
abandoned. The glass of the windows are broken, the door is big as a gate but
its half crashed and dull. It’s the same in scary movies, it would be funny if
it was possessed by ghosts or something, I thought and tried to chuckle on that
thought, but fear won over chuckling.
“Charles? Why did we come here?”
looking around and behind me, hoping there’s no one there.
Charles opened the door and went
inside, so I followed him. After I came in, the door closed behind me, I jumped
and looked and saw that Charles the one who closed it, I sighed in relief.
“Emily…” he turned to me and came
closer to me still expressionless.
“Y-Yes? What is it?” I started going
back a little as he moved closer to me, but he pinned me on a wall.
“I will tell you something, but you
have to promise no swear that you won’t tell anyone” as he talked he kept
looking at my eye and leaning closer.
“I-I swear that I won’t tell anyone!”
I blushed as he leaned, trying to find a way to get far from him. He backed
away after I promised him, what was all that about?
“Well, it’s better for me to show you
than tell you…So that you believe me…” he turned around giving me his back.
“Either way, I do believe you…” what
does he mean by that? Does that mean I’m right? He has crimson eyes? Questions
kept flowing in my mind the same as a fly flies around a cake. He turned around
again, but this time facing me. Slowly, he opened his eyes. This time his eyes
were different, they’re not filled with happiness and hope; instead they’re
filled with sadness, and dark intentions. But, what made me more shocked
was….that what I said was true. He does have crimson eyes, I thought. I kept
staring at his eyes, and touched my eye patch. Should I tell him too? I
thought.
“My answer to your question is yes…I
do have crimson eyes. Well both actually.” He kept staring at me, with no fear
at all. I removed my eye patch, but my eye is still closed.
“I, as well, have to show you
something” I hesitated, but slowly I opened my eye and looked at him. But, when
I looked at him with my crimson eye, I could see something around him.
Something I have never seen before. It’s a color, and that color is black. What
is this around him? I thought.
“Heh…I had a feeling that you do have
crimson eyes, but instead you have only one.” He softly smiled, but this time
he wasn’t looking at me, he was looking away.
“Can you see something around me? As a
color?” I stared at him, hoping that
it’s not only me.
“Yeah. I can see it. And that thing is
called semblance. Semblance is the
feeling inside of the human being, not everyone can see it that’s for sure, but
only humans with crimson eyes can see it. You can say it’s like seeing that
person’s mood or something. He kept walking towards me, while he was telling
me. But the black color kept growing, why?
“Oh, I see.” I move backwards slowly.
“Your color is light grey….Do you know
what that means?” he grinned, as he walked closer.
“N-no... What does it mean?” his black
semblance is getting stronger and darker. What’s going on? I thought.
“It means you’re afraid. You have fear
against something or someone.” His grin widened as he came close to me. I hit
my back on something…Oh my god! What is it! I thought in panic. I turned my
head and saw that it’s a wall. Thank goodness it’s not something else, I sigh
in relief. But, I have nowhere to go! I kept panicking in my thoughts.
“Th-then why is your semblance pitch
black?” I felt my throat dry, as if I ate a bunch of salt. He kept smiling at
me, as he got closer. He kept grinning and suddenly he disappeared, I kept
looking around and thought where did he go? I kept moving around slowly looking
around searching for him. I felt something touching m throat, something sharp,
but I can’t see anything. Slowly, I couldn’t move as if something is stopping
me from moving and suddenly hehehehe. You have no idea who I am, don’t you?
“Who are you? Where are you hiding you
coward?” I started to shake from fear and terror. Who is he? Where is he
talking from? It feels like he’s all around the room, I started to think. A
coward? Who is a coward? Aren’t you the one who is scared and a coward?
Hehehehe, I think you should tell me who you are.
“What do you mean who am I?” still
frozen looking around.
Don’t play dumb! Anyways it’s useless
to tell you who you are, so I just have to kill you once and for all. Heheheh.
“You’re not Charles right? You’re like
an evil spirit or it’s more of you’re a demon.” I started to move
backwards and hit something, I felt my body went cold and the blood was drained
from my face. When I turned around, I saw him holding my arms and I screamed
loudly. Suddenly he disappeared; I could still feel his hands on my arms. I stood
still not moving at all, feeling cold and fear. “Agh!” I fell on my knees,
covering my mouth and coughing and when I saw my hand, I saw blood dripping
from my mouth. I saw blood dripping on the ground from somewhere else, when I
looked at my body afraid to even look; I saw that a big hand with long nails
pierced through my chest. Hehehehe can you feel how amazing your blood flow
going out of your body? Can you see how amazing your blood splattering on the
ground? Hehehehe. Now, die. He kept slicing my chest down to my stomach, as
I coughed more blood and fell on the ground. Oh, how wonderful! So
wonderful! Look how your guts look like, so pink covered with red! Hehehehehehe
muahahahaha. As he kept laughing, slowly I’m starting to see how we were
before, like my past flashing right in front of my eyes. “So that’s how it
feels like when you die…” I whispered to myself.
Emily…Emily…Emily. I’m hearing my
name, I wonder whose calling me, is it my mom? I don’t think it’s possible. I
opened my eyes slowly, looking at the blurry ceiling until I can see clear. I
looked next to me, to see who is calling my name. “Emily! You’re awake! I’m so
glad!” she came closer to me and hugged me. “Ow, don’t hug me tightly.” I
looked at her with a pained look. “Oh I’m sorry, I’m just happy to see you
awake!” she looked at me with a relived and happy eyes while smiling shiningly
and holding my hands. “Who are you and how do you know my name?”
“I expected that you won’t know me,
since you’re always away from others and being alone. I’m Pixie from your
class. Nice to meet you!” she smiled at me.
“Nice to meet you too, Pixie.” I
looked down not wanting her to see me blushing.
“How are you feeling though? What
happened to you?” she kept looking at me with worry and concerned eyes.
“I’m fine, don’t worry about me and
nothing much happened just a misunderstanding.” I looked at her and noticed on
the table next to me is my eye patch, I started to let my hair cover my left
crimson eye.
“What’s wrong? Why are you covering
your left eye? Is it hurting you?” she kept asking as she came closer.
“No! Don’t come closer!” I looked at
her scared of her to see and change her mind about me. She stopped and looked
down “is it because you have crimson eye?” I looked at her with a surprise.
“You saw it…but, why aren’t you scared
of me…? As they say it’s a bad om-”
“I don’t care what people say! I know
how horrible it feels. I know how cruel can people be! But, I don’t believe
them. I know you’re a smart and a nice girl, who doesn’t want to harm others.
So, don’t try and hide from me or try to stay away and lock yourself away from
others! Please…” she started crying. I
wonder why she is crying, when I’m the one who’s suffering. But, is it okay to
just trust her and open up to her? Is it okay to see her as a friend?
“Emily, can you be my friend? I’ll
help you for whatever you need! I just want to be your friend…” she clenched
her hands into fists, while tears are dripping down her cheeks. I want to ask
her why, but instead I thought I’d be at least nice and kind to her.
“Geez. You don’t have to cry, you
know.” I took a piece of tissue and handed it to her, as I smiled at her. She
took it as she sniffed and smiling back “thank you.”
“But, you have to promise me you won’t
tell anyone about my eye or anything I say to you.” I looked at her with
serious eyes. She nodded “I promise.”
“I’ll tell you everything that I know
and what happened.” I said as I sat up and looking straight at her.
