Chapter
5
Suddenly, I feel a very powerful
energy streaming down my veins. I got up, all I see is red. I feel my body is
moving on its own. What’s happening to me, I thought. Everyone must die.
Everyone should stop insulting me. Everyone should bow before me and beg for
forgiveness. Die! I woke up suddenly
gasping, and breathing fast. What’s with the dream, I thought. I looked around
and I find myself in a big room. A king-sized bed, a fancy looking couch with a
coffee table, a big bookshelf filled with different sizes and colours of books,
next to me is a small table with vegetable soup and bread, walls painted with
rose golden colour. Suddenly, I heard someone knocking on the door, so I told
whoever it is to come in. When the door opened, Albert came in. I felt happy to
see that Albert is the one who came to check up on me. He bowed before me and
held my hand.
“I sincerely apologize, milady. I
never wanted this to happen to you. I really wish I’ve been there. Please
forgive me, milady.” He kneeled down in front of me and kissed my hand. I took
my hand away at once, while my cheeks are slightly turning red.
“Don’t worry so much about it. He’s
the one who’s stupid and arrogant. But, what happened? Where am I?” I looked at him and his eyes were filled with
worry and guilt.
“As Blake told me, you turned into a
demon. You got up with a fierce smile on your face and started fighting
everyone, including the leader of the headquarters. Blake was trying to stop
you, but you even beat her up. Everyone was beaten up badly along with severe
injuries. You slowly calmed down, when everyone was beaten up and you no longer
have any energy left within you. That’s when you fainted and I came running to
you and took you here.”
“Who’s Blake? Did I beat that fatty
too?” I looked at him with confused look on my face.
“Blake is the woman who you were with.
Yes, you beat him the most.” I smiled softly but evilly at the same time. I
placed my hand in front of me, and kept staring at it.
“That means I really am half demon.
But, what made me turn like that?” still looking at my hand.
“Because you were beaten up, and that
made you turn into a demon. There are things that can turn you into a demon,
when you can’t control it. That’s why, you have to choose a weapon and train at
once.” Albert was looking at me with eyes filled with knowledge and worry.
“I see. When will I choose my weapon?”
I slowly sat up sighing from how my body is in pain. Albert quickly helped me
sit up, placing his hand on my back and his other hand on my hand.
“I can sit up on my own, you know.” A
soft, tender blush crossed my cheeks.
“I still am willing to help you,
milady. Once you get better, the weapon will choose you and you will start
training.” He told me, while he handed me my soup.
“I feel better now, so let’s get
started.” I placed the bowl of the soup on the table, after I sipped a little.
I slowly got up, but the pain was hurting so much that I groaned loudly.
“Milady, I beg
you to not force yourself. You have to rest for a week or 2, and
then you can have the weapon and train.” Albert held my shoulders, pushing me
back gently to rest more.
“But, that’s a lot of time. What will
I do for 2 weeks?” I sighed, taking my soup again and drinking more.
“You can read, walk outside to get
some fresh air, anything of that sort.” Albert said, as he walked towards the
big window that takes nearly half of the wall.
“Yeah, and that seems entertaining for
you? Come on Albert, let me do that now.” I whined, and insisted on him.
“I am sorry, milady. But, you do know
that, if you do it now when you’re weak, you might die when you bleed. I know
you would never want that to happen at all.” He’s still staring at the window.
“Then, make me feel better now. Do
anything, anything at all.” I kept staring at him, wanting him to look at me.
“I cannot do that, milady. It’s your
own body, and your body takes time to heal, or so I thought.” He turned to me
and walked closer.
“What do you mean?” I looked at him,
as he got closer.
“You’re a half demon. Demons can heal
faster than humans. Maybe, you really are feeling better.”
“That’s what I’ve been telling you,
Albert. I’m completely fine.” I gestured to my body, that I am fine.
“You will have to rest for 3 days.” Albert
started walking towards the door.
“Are you for real Albert? I really
give up. Fine, then.” I sighed and looked at my soup that only half of it left.
Suddenly, someone knocked softly on the door.
“Who is it?” I looked at the door, but
it gave off a creepy aura. No one answered, but the creepy aura that I feel
didn’t disappear. Someone knocked again, but harder as if it wanted to break
the door. I got scared, for how hard the door was knocked. I stared at the door
more; the creepy aura around it disappeared. I felt relieved and calm, but my
heart won’t stop beating so fast. What was that? I thought. For how scared I
got, I felt tired and slept. While I was sleeping, a maiden came in wearing
light purple short dress, with white apron on top of it. Her hair was tied up
as white as a snow, short wavy pony tail. She took the food that I ate and
replaced it with another food. After she went out and closed the door, I slowly
opened my eyes. I looked at the table next to me, and I saw sliced apples,
oranges and peaches. I got up and stretched my body. The pain is gone, I
thought. I took the plate and opened the window. I walked in the balcony, while
I was munching on one piece of the apples. I kept looking at the amazing,
colourful, nature that is in front of me, from sparkling trees to the watery
grass. The soft breeze brushed the trees and the plants, and took the scent of
the flowers fragment into the air. I breathed in deeply and sighed, taking
another piece of an apple. The soft breeze brushed my hair, and I heard a
whisper in my ear that made me shiver. I couldn’t hear the whisper clearly, but
I know it’s something bad. Albert knocked on the door and entered, didn’t wait
for me to give him permission.
“Oh, you’re up already milady. Seems
like you’re doing fine now.” He said, as he walked towards the window.
“Yes, I’m perfectly fine. Albert, I
have something to tell you.” I turned facing him.
“Yes, milady?” he tilted his head a
bit, to hear me out.
“Hours ago, someone knocked on the
door softly. I did tell the one who knocked, who it was. But, no one answered,
nor entered. Then all of a sudden, it knocked on the door harder, as if it
wanted to break the door. But, the weird thing is, there was a creepy aura
coming from the door. It was so creepy, that it scared the shit out of me. Oh,
and just now, I heard a whisper I don’t know what it was, but it made me
shiver.” I kept looking at him and holding my hands together. Albert looked
shocked and said, “Milady. Give me one moment and I shall come back to you.”
Albert started walking towards the door hurriedly.
“Albert, wait. Where are you going?
You do know what it is, don’t you?” I tried catching up to him, but he closed
the door behind him and I stopped. After couple of minutes has passed, Albert
came back with his battle axe behind his back.
“Albert, why do you have a battle axe
with you?” I pointed at his back surprisingly.
“Milady, please sit down. I will tell
you everything.” Albert walked outside
in the balcony, and looked around before coming inside and closing the windows.
I sat down on my bed, as he got a chair and sat in front of me.
“What’s wrong, Albert?” I searched
into his eyes to know what’s going on.
“The thing you felt is a strong demon.
There is a demon underground, and the demon escaped. Maybe, the whisper you
heard is from him. Do be careful, milady.”
“There’s a demon on the loose? But,
why is there a demon down there?”
“The demon is a test subject. They’re
making an experiment on him, to see what can kill demons once and for all.
Maybe, it sensed your demon aura and came to you. But, don’t worry; I won’t
leave your side at all. I, as well, can sense demons.” A gentle smile crossed
his gentle face. I softly smiled back, and kept looking at his weapon.
“Albert, can you show me your battle
axe?”
“Of course milady, I don’t see why I
shouldn’t.” Albert took his battle axe out of the axe holder that is made out
of brown leather. The battle axe is a double headed battle axe with sharp edges
like a sword, its colour is black and silver. The blades of the battle axe are
shaped like a sharp blade with circles and writings on it. Between the 2
blades, there is a silver spikey arrow. The handle is silver and black, along
with a silver end shaped like bull. That’s one hell of an axe, I thought.
“Are there more weapons such as these?”
I pointed at the double headed battle axe.
“Of course, there are even more
dangerous weapons than this.” He placed his double headed battle axe in the axe
holder behind him.
“Tomorrow, milady, will be your day to
get a weapon.”
“Really, Finally, I get to see what
kind of weapon I’ll get.” I sighed and lay back on my bed.
“You should have more rest for
tomorrow, milady. I’ll stay here to protect you if anything happened.” He took
his axe holder from his back and placed it next to him. I rested my head on my
pillow, staring at the ceiling. Slowly, my eyes closed and I fell asleep.
“Milady, Milady, wake up. Soon the
ritual will start, and you have to be ready.”
I slowly opened my eyes and saw Albert close to me. I remembered that
the ritual is today, so I got up and accidentally hit Albert’s forehead with my
head.
“Ow. I’m so sorry, Albert. I didn’t
mean to hit your head. I have to hurry.” I got out of bed, looking for clothes
to wear.
“But, milady, are you hurt? Never
apologize to me, milady. I accept whatever you do. I prepared your food, and
clothes, milady.” He walked with me to calm me down.
“No, I’m fine, Albert. Where did you
put my clothes?” I kept moving around panicking.
“Milady, it’s in the bathroom.” He
held my shoulders and looked into my eyes.
“Oh, thank you Albert.” I took his
hands off of me and went to the bathroom. I saw a short dress hanging on the
hanger. A short, puffy, cerulean blue prom dress, covered with soft, small
flowers. I took off my normal clothes, and wore the dress. I combed my hair and
tied it as a ponytail. I felt nervous looking at myself in the mirror, but I
got out peeking if Albert is waiting for me or not. I slowly opened the door,
so that I can take a peek at Albert. My face turned red, when I saw him there.
I quickly closed the door, and thought that I can’t go out now. I looked at
myself again, and the dress is so short that my knees are showing.
“Milady, are you alright in there?”
Albert knocked on the door 3 times.
“Yes, I’m fine. I will come out now.”
I took in a deep breath, and walked out. When I got out, Albert’s reaction
changed. I tried not to show that I feel shy about it, so I kept looking at
him.
“Is something wrong, Albert?” albert
coughed a fake cough and said, “no, milady. Everything’s fine. Shall we go
now?” Albert started walking in front of me and I walked behind him.
“When you did the ritual, what
happened to you?” I looked at his broad back.
“You shouldn’t worry about that,
milady. You have to be strong.” We arrived at the same dark door, and Albert
knocked. After the third knock, the door opened on its own. Albert looked at me
and nodded, as he entered. I walked in behind him, and saw the fatty sitting in
the middle covered in bandages and wrapped. I wanted to laugh at how hilarious
he looked, but I don’t want to cause more troubles for Albert. Albert bowed and
said, “Sire, I have brought to you the girl again and she’s ready to do the
ritual.” The fatty grumped and sighed, but he won’t stop glaring at me. 2
short, girls with their short hair, short bangs on top of their eyebrows. One
of them has straight, short till the middle of her neck, purple hair. She’s
wearing purple dress, shorter than mine even. The other girl has curly short
fire red hair, like a boy, and wearing red short dress, the same shortness as
the other girl. One of them took a knife and scratched my arm deeply. She drew
a magic pattern with my blood. I felt a bit dizzy for losing blood, but I won’t
give up just yet. They guided me to the middle and stood there. The other girl
brought 3 hangers filled with different kinds, sizes and shapes of weapons. One
of the weapons looked dangerous and that the weapon kept moving anxiously,
wanting to get out of its hanger. The girl opened the chains around it; the
chains were bigger than other chains for other weapons. The weapon flew at me
and kept cutting me everywhere in my body. Making deep injuries, and bleeding
even more. I fell on my knees for how dizzy I felt, but I won’t give up just
yet, not when I reached this far.
